History of Networks Unlimited
Coincidence brought Craig Copeland and Wayne Bird together in 1994 which led to the start of Networks Unlimited, offering IT security solutions in South Africa. They met while working for an IT company in the UK and although they were from two totally different backgrounds, they believed that this concept would work in South Africa. Their areas of expertise seemed to compliment each other, while Wayne was the techno wiz, Craig had the know-how in accountancy and marketing.
The duo based themselves in Cape Town, where they set up operations, starting small, with Craig and Wayne dividing the phone book in half and calling everyone they possible could from A-Z, to create awareness for a range of products that they knew were top notch.
The company specialized in providing much needed advice on Network Management, with particular focus in the following areas:

- Monitoring and Protocol Analysis
- Internet Filtering
- Content Security
- SNMP Management
- WAN Optimization
This model complimented the companies slogan at the time, being, “Monitor, Analyse and Improve”, while the wide range of products ensured that Networks Unlimited lived up to their promise of providing clients with a total, customizable, software solution that seamlessly integrated with their other network applications.
In the early days, Networks Unlimited focused on three main areas of technology, being Content Security, Remote Support and Internet Usage Management, which ultimately led to the success of the company.
From small beginnings, Networks Unlimited has expanded and currently has offices in Cape Town, Johannesburg as well as Durban. Our core values of service, quality and commitment underpin our focus as Value Added Distributors with National representation by a select group of partners and resellers.
